URO Performance Saturday January 21st Need your URO fix? Come and join us at the Regent Theatre in Arlington. Fresh off a recent run, the band is raring to go. Get your tickets HERE. 1/6/11 Chachi from WZLX joins the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra on stage Opening weekend of our Rock and Roll Circus just happened with an initial set of Beatles only songs - including the entire B-side of Abbey Road. Fantastic response from the audience - and Chachi, WZLX 's Beatles officianado, was on hand to give away Beates memorabilia. Check out some photos on WZLX's website... 10/19/11 Rock and Roll Circus Regent Theatre - 6 weeks - Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra once a week, with alternative entertainment on other nights from Deborah Henson Conant, the Post Meridian Players, Old Jack, Brown Boot and Gary Cherone's Slip Kid. Check out the schedule here. 10/13/11 Erie, PA and Pyro! Pyrotechnics don't crop up in our shows usually, but Erie gave us the opportunity and so here's us performing Bohemian Rhapsody with a surprise on-stage effect... (the giant 'URO' behind the drums was also fun) 7/22/11 Melody Tent Peformance with Siobhan Magnus As some of you may know, our drummer, Chunky, is the uncle of Siobhan Magnus - who was an American Idol finalist and who is now building on her musical career. We have performed a few shows with Siobhan as a guest singer in the past, and on June 18th we took the stage with her again at the Melody Tent on Cape Cod. Siobhan is from the Cape, and the evening also presented her as a soloist for one set - with the home-town crowd anxious to hear more of what she can do. Check out an excellent review in the Cape Cod Times here. The evening was a huge success and is being followed up with a similar performance at the Summer Wind Performing Arts Center, Windsor, CT on August 6th (details.) 7/15/11 Shows at the Regent Theatre, Arlington, MA For those of you in the Boston area, don't forget to buy your tickets now for our June 3, 4 and 5 shows at the Regent Theatre. There'll be new band members, some new songs and revamped costuming. We've been working hard in rehearsals, and, if I do say so myself, it's sounding amazing. See you there. 5/9/11 New URO Keyboardist Also just joining us with his first full-band rehearsal last weekend is Ernie Cataldo. Ernie is stepping into the challenging role of keyboard player and has his work cut out for him creating the sounds that are unique to each song. Ernie exhibits a great sense of timing and an impressive attention to detail - traits that will help him slot easily into the position of keyboardist. 4/21/11 Doug To The Bass Position When our previous bass player, Kieffer, recently moved away from Boston, Doug, one of our long time guitarists decided to make the move to the bass position. Doug has been playing bass in bands for many years and is looking forward to the new challenge it offers him with the URO. 3/21/11 House of Blues, Boston We recently took the stage at the House of Blues in Boston for an event thrown by a group of fun-seeking party goers celebrating the 30th Anniversary of their Company. It's great to be able to participate in events where everyone shares the same goal - to have a great night. The House of Blues has a big stage, great sound system and really cool crew - everything we needed to turn in an energetic performance.

San Francisco, California We just played a one-night event in San Francisco - a giant party in a huge ex-trolley car warehouse that had been dressed to the nines. That city certainly has got some hills - and fog. The next day a few of us took a trolley car across town just to say we did it. 12/20/10
December 2010 at the Regent Theatre Having arranged 3 shows at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA, we decided to do each night with a different theme. Friday night we played all the songs from The Beatles' 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' - the first time we've ever played an entire album. It was quite special. Also included in the evening were B-sides and deepcuts from other artists - songs we don't get to play all the time On Saturday we put the ball in the audiences court - they got to email us their song choices from a list of a possible 50 of our songs - and we played the top 20 choices. It was interesting to see which songs got the most votes. We used Sunday as an opportunity to something else different. We invited former URO singers to join us on some songs in the 1st Set - resulting in a great sound with 20 singers on stage. Then in the 2nd Set, Siobhan Magnus from Season 9 of American Idol sang as one of the Gang. Siobhan is our drummer, Alan's, niece - and also a fantastic singer and show-person.

Phoenix, Arizona One cool thing about travelling around with the URO is that we get to see many different regions of the country. The hotel we stayed at while performing in Phoenix was surrounded by desert and cactii - but thankfully boasted multiple swimming pools, complete with a lazy river to escape the heat. Jack rabbits and scorpions visited us, and we even came across a wild Rattlesnake one evening - which we avoided carefully. 10/20/10

Las Vegas, Nevada
Having performed all over the States, this was our first trip to Vegas - and what a trip. We performed in front of about 8000 people at the Cisco Live 2010 Event at the MGM Grand Arena. Huge Light Show, massive stage, and a raucous, vocal crowd. A very fun night. 6/23/10

UnPlugged at the RegentIt has been a while since we were here - and so we came to the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA to perform a rather unique show - unplugged - that is to say, no electric guitars. It was a different take on us and the songs, and heavily featured the vocalists and their blended harmonies. There was more interaction with the audience, including Q & A and Moon took moments throughout the night to pass on tidbits of knowledge about the bands whose music we perform. All in all it was a great one off - so far. It's success might produce more shows like this. 6/19/10 |
Casino Rama, OntarioOne week after we got back from a fantastic week in Dallas, we flew up to Toronto, Canada and from there took a short bus ride to Casino Rama. Huge stage, big lights and sound, and 4000 people in the audience - now that was fun. The new video footage you see on our opening website page was shot there. Thanks to everyone at Rama - we had a great time. (VIDEO) 2/5/10 |
Dallas, TexasThe AT & T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, TX has just opened a brand new, state-of-the-art theatre called the Wyly Theatre, and we the URO are going to be stamping the theatre's mark on the city with 6 six performances in 5 days - including 2 on New Year's Eve. Shows are Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December. 12/5/09 |
Orlando, FloridaOn the road again! We're piling the band - all 18 of us, plus crew - into a plane and jetting off to Orlando next weekend for a private function. 2000 audience members will be exposed to the rock - and we, in turn, might get to see some warm sunshine. We'll see. 10/16/09 |
Boston FestivalsThe URO performed at a couple of festivals in Boston in late the summer. On September 13th we were on stage on a beautiful afternoon down by the harbor for the Boston Arts Festival. We closed the afternoon's events in front of a large, energetic crowd. And on September 26th we played on the City Hall Plaza stage for the Boston Bike Celebration - immediately following the finish of the Mayor's Cup professional bike race. Bike fans, URO fans and Boston tourists joined together in the early evening to rock the plaza and beyond. 10/14/09 |
What's Been Going On With the URO?Well, we've taken a little time to do vacations - much needed. This last weekend we played a great show down in Atlantic City at the Hilton Casino. Long drive there and back, but we had a couple of days there to soak up the sun. Sal and Alan have been slaving over hot computers editing new videos. Check them out here. 8/18/09 |
Last Stuart Street Playhouse PerformanceAs you know, we've been playing at the Stuart Street Playhouse in downtown Boston every Saturday night since January '09. So now's the time to buy your tickets before we move out for a while. We're hoping to return there - but we're not sure when. We'll keep you informed. 6/1/09 |

Weekly URO e-mail ParticipationAnother surprise we've encountered recently is the particpatory response to the weekly emails that Sal has been penning and sending on behalf of the URO. The emails contain fun info about the band, the music we play, the shows we're performing. Contests and surveys are put out to the URO friends - and the feedback we get is excellent. If you're not receiving the URO weekly email, sign up to our Mailing List now. MAILING 3/5/09 |
Stuart Street Shows Attracting Enthusiastic AudiencesWe're just heading in to our 12th performance at the Stuart Street Playhouse, and have been so happy to find that the audiences that have been attending have been consistently enthusiastic and rockin'. Each week it seems like the audience is trying to out-cheer, out-sing and out-rock the prior week's crowd. So, it's creating an amazing feeling out in the seats, and transferring a huge amount of energy to the performers on-stage - who love to feed on it. Keep it up everyone! 3/5/09 |
New CD - Additional TracksI know some of you have been anxiously awaiting the new CD from the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra - a collection of studio recordings by the band of some of the most popular songs we play in our performances. We, too, are excited to put the CD out, but we are going to delay a short while longer. We have taken the decision to add a couple of Zeppelin tunes, and a couple more Queen tunes. We going to work hard to have it available as soon as possible. 3/4/09 |

Cleveland, OhioLast weekend we travelled to Cleveland for a one night show at the Allen Theatre. During our set-up, we managed to find a couple of spare hours to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - what a great way to get us all pumped up for the show. And, of course, in the true spirit of Spinal Tap, we opened the performance with all 19 of us shouting "Hello Cleveland!" It just had to be done. 10/16/08 |
Fryeburg and FireworksA first for the URO - once we were set up on the moving stage at the Fryeburg Fair in Maine, we had a chence to hatch a little plan with the guys who were setting up the evening's fireworks display. So, 8000 raucous audience members were treated to an amazing fireworks display that began precisely on the last note of our encore song - Flash Gordon. It was quite spectacular. 10/08/08 |
Revised Web-site LookSo we changed some design elements in our website - giving you the blue URO logo and blue page buttons. The URO "Fist of Rock" has also been used in some parts. All in effort to make our site ever more eye-catching and easy to use. 9/30/08 |
Pumpkin FestivalOctober 18 will mark our 3rd year of performing at the Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival in Boston. New URO CD On It's WaySince the beginning of this year the URO has been spending many spare hours in the studio recording brand new versions of the biggest songs we play during our performances, including Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, Won't Get Fooled Again and much of Abbey Road. We're mixing the final tracks now, and the the finished cd will be available this Fall. Watch this space. 8/13/08 |
Who Takes Our Amazing PhotosWe are very lucky to have some great shots of the URO immortalized in digital picture form. Many of those shots were taken by a great photographer friend of ours who has been working with us for a couple of years now. His name is Marshall Goff and you check out more of his work at www.marshallgoff.com. Many other shots were taken by another great friend of ours, who played bass in a band with Sal and Alan for many years - Shawn Carey. Shawn is primarily a wildlife photographer, and you can see more of his work at www.migrationproductions.com. 7/23/08 |
Thanks for Erie SupportersThanks to all those who came to see the shows in Erie, all those who helped us out at the Erie Playhouse, and an extra special thanks to the Baxters for the very generous use of their house while we were in town. 7/7/08 |
Erie, P.A.Just spent 5 days in Erie performing 4 shows at the Erie Playhouse. Although we'd never played there before, the town's reaction was tremendous, and the audience turnout was excellent. We were featured on local TV and radio, and had great support from the Erie Times, which printed an extensive preview write-up and a very favorable review - thanks Dr. Rock. 7/4/08 |
